6 Moments From The Creed III Trailer That Got Me Super Excited For This Movie

If there were any doubts about the future of the Rocky franchise with the titular character of Sylvester Stallone no longer involved, they were thrown out the window in October 2022 when the Creed III the trailer has debuted and offered a preview of the upcoming boxing movie. The trailer, which shows franchise newcomer Jonathan Majors‘ Physically Dominant Damian Anderson Gets Personal With Michael B. Jordan’s Adonis Creed is full of drama and top-notch boxing sequences that puts him among the best the franchise has to offer.

Before watching the trailer, I didn’t think I could get any more pumped up for the movie’s March 2023 release, but now I feel the need to look into getting cryogenically frozen so I don’t have to wait the four and- months and a half until it finally falls. Here are some excerpts from this explosive trailer of first director Michael B. Jordan who got me super excited for Creed III.

Adonis and Damian catch up at the restaurant

The tension in the restaurant scene very early in the Creed III the trailer is so thick that even knives placed on the table could not make scratches. Adonis and Damian’s catching up to 18 years after the latter was sent to prison for a crime they allegedly committed together is tense, awkward and painful as the two old friends come to terms with how their lives went in two very different directions.

Majors, who completely got screwed for the role, is particularly brilliant in this brief scene, as the recently released ex-con looks around frantically at his new surroundings and talks to his old friend about life in prison and always having “gas in the tank”.

Damian shows his brutality at the gym

At the start of the Creed III trailer, Adonis Creed welcomes Damian Anderson to his gym to work on his boxing skills after his former friend returns home. Although it’s nothing more than a friendly sparring match between Damian and another boxer at the gym, the unhinged fighter doesn’t hold back and shows just how much two decades of rage and pent-up trauma can psychologically hurt a person. . Combine that with this ridiculous physique and you yourself have an intense display of power.

Clearly, Damian isn’t like any boxer Adonis has faced in the past, and it looks like this will be his toughest fight yet, both inside and out. outside the ring. Even though Majors doesn’t play Clubber Lang’s son in the film, his character certainly looks as fierce, angry and brutal as MT’s. Rocky III nasty.

Adonis trains with his daughter

The theme of family ties has always been at the fore throughout the Rocky and Creed movies, with the dynamic between Rocky Balboa and his son being at the center of the latest films in the historic franchise, and Adonis dealing with his old man’s legacy in the new movies. After seeing Adonis training with his daughter (there was a big time jump between Creed II and Creed III), I’m glad the tradition continues.

The boxing streaks and these workout montages (more on both later) help make the Rocky and Creed movies of all time with some truly iconic scenes, but it’s the family element that’s always been the string that keeps the gloves snug. The way Adonis handles being a father to a young girl in today’s world has a lot of potential.

Adonis trains like Rocky In The Woods

You can’t have one Rocky Where Creed movie without an overdone training edit, and it looks like Creed III is going to give us not one but two – one for each of the two main characters. Although the new trailer doesn’t show the extent of his training, there are glimpses of Adonis preparing for his big fight with Damian, in particular a shot of him punching trees in the woods. .

This excites me for several reasons. First of all, few things make someone look tougher than hitting what looks like a redwood tree. And second, it looks and feels like the epic Rocky IV training assembly this saw Sylvester Stallone’s character take a primitive approach to his battle preparation. I don’t know about everyone, but my heart was on fire when Adonis was training in the desert like his old mentor.

Damian trains at what looks like Venice Beach

Adonis isn’t the only boxer to get a training streak in the Creed III trailer, as there are multiple shots of Damian preparing for the big fight with his old childhood friend. Although brief, there are a few nuggets of footage showing the villain’s physical presence, including one that appears to be training in Venice Beach, California, in front of a crowd and a film crew.

But the sequence that really got me excited was of Damian running down the beach with a parachute to work on his strength and conditioning. It looks a lot like the Rocky/Apollo Creed training scene in the superior Rocky III, when the “Italian Stallion” was preparing to face Clubber Lang. It adds to the whole dynamic of moving forward while honoring the past and a 40 year boxing movie.

Adonis and Damian finally face off in the ring

The moment of the Creed III The trailer that got me most excited, however, comes in the final moments when the two childhood friends finally face off in the ring. Man, this seems like a brutal, painful, and emotional fight as the two fierce competitors put all their feelings into every punch. This could very well be a title fight, but for these two, it’s something more than that. For Adonis and Damian, it’s more than business. It’s personal.

Years later, when we discuss the best fights in the Rocky and Creed movies, I’m sure will be at the top of this list, and I haven’t seen more than a few action shots.

As you can see, I’m thrilled to finally have the chance to see Creed III after watching the film’s explosive first trailer. There are still a few months left before we see the highly anticipated movie 2023 in its entirety, but we have a lot of New in 2022 to hold us in the meantime.
