Aadi Sai Kumar is making consecutive films this year. His latest presentation is Crazy Fellow which hit the screens today. Let’s see how it is.

Nani (Aadi Saikumar) is a lucky youngster who joins a dating app and is attracted to a girl named Chinni (Digangana Suryavanshi) without even seeing her. He grows closer to her and even Chinni falls in love with him. When the couple decides to meet, Nani surprises and proposes love to Chinni (Mirnaa Menon). Why did Nani suddenly change his plans? What happened to Chinni? Who did Nani finally marry? This forms the rest of the story?

Good points :

Compared to recent Aadi duds, Crazy Fellow is much better. Aadi does a transformation and looks quite handsome in this movie. Her new haircut and youthful look suit her quite well. Usually he is more hyper with his performances but here he gave a tuned performance and is pretty good in the movie.

Digangana Suryavanshi gets a meaty role and performs well in all the emotional scenes. The film has a very good supporting cast and they act superbly. Anish Kuruvilla plays the hero’s brother and he was decent. Mirnaa Menon was correct as the second leader.

Crazy Fellow has two key characters in the form of Tamil actor Vinodini and Narra Sreenu. They are the best part and do well. All the scenes between Narra Sreenu and hero Aadi are quite fun to watch on screen. Tasty Teja was also neat in her small role.

One of the best parts of the film is the comedy which keeps the film lighthearted. The basic suspense and the love triangle were executed quite well. The second half is better than the first half.

Negative points :

The movie has a very predictable storyline and a few repeated scenes in the first half. The way the hero is presented seems a bit exaggerated.

Also, emotions should have been stronger when it comes to romance. The second heroine and how she falls in love with the hero seems rushed. A more subtle narration from the director would have made the love story more impactful.

The film has several scenes that have been featured in many earlier films. The first half is a bit slow and only during the break does it make sense.

Technical aspects:

The film’s music is quite good and RR Dhruvan did a good job. The production values are also quite good. The BGM is nice and the dialogues are fun. The camera work is neat, as is the editing.

Coming to director Phani Krishna, he did a decent job with the film. His storytelling is light and he handled his characters well and made the movie quite passable to watch.

Overall, Crazy Fellow is a lighthearted triangular love story that has good comedy and good performances. The film begins on a slow note and has predictable scenes. But compared to previous Aadi films, Crazy Fellow is much better and tempting for its passable storytelling.
