 Sheriff: Alec Baldwin unloaded propeller pistol on film set that killed 1, injured another – Woman died and set worker injured following accidental shooting on set of western movie shot near Santa Fe. The shooting took place just before 2 p.m. Thursday and MPs said actor Alec Baldwin unloaded the propeller pistol. According to MPs, cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, 42, was flown to UNMH where she died. Joel Souza, 48, who is the director of the film, was taken to Christus Saint Vincent Hospital in Santa Fe where he is being treated for his injuries. Officials say the incident on set was an accident involving the misfiring of a propeller pistol. The start of production is now on hold while the investigation continues.
 APD releases video of police shooting in August, suspect remains hospitalized – The Albuquerque Police Department released video of a police shooting involving a person of interest in a homicide investigation. Officers were trying to arrest David Martinez near Broadway and Gibson in August for a probation violation when they say he took off and crashed into a fence. They say he then left on foot, scaling fences to escape. Video shows him emerging on Broadway and pointing a gun at the driver of a pickup truck. It was then that the agents opened fire on Martinez. The APS says he is alive but barely able to speak. They have not been able to question him about the homicide case since July. A review board is still investigating whether the agents’ actions were justified.
 Beautiful Friday followed by a hot and windy weekend – Friday morning is calm and cool across New Mexico and southern Colorado. However, the warming trend continues today, with most places in the region reaching the 1970s and 1980s, and the 1950s and 1960s in the northern highlands. Temperatures will remain warm through Saturday, with a chill of about 2 to 6 degrees on Sunday.
 Garage Bandit targets another Albuquerque house – Garage Bandit appears to be hitting garages all over town. Earlier this week, KRQE released a Ring video of the serial thief stealing from a garage near Coal and Girard. Since then, other owners have contacted KRQE saying the same man hit their garage. A woman who lives near Osuna and Vista del Norte says the scammer stole some of her things. They called the police, but by the time the police arrived the suspect was gone.
 City boosts major park renovation Los Altos – A popular city park plagued with problems is getting a makeover. Construction is underway for Los Altos Park near I-40 and Eubank. They are currently in the first phase which includes the refurbishment of the park’s four softball fields and the addition of a fifth, as well as a new community building with meeting rooms and a concession stand. Los Altos has been a haven for crime and homeless settlements in recent years. The second phase will add a BMX track and an improved dog park.
