Prabhas star Radhe Shyam is set to hit theaters on March 11. The romantic drama, which marks Prabhas’ return to the big screen following the release of Saaho in 2019, is already garnering positive reactions. Umair Sandhu, a member of the overseas censor board, took to his Instagram stories on Sunday and called Radhe Shyam a true “cinematic experience”. He added that Prabhas is “back strong”.
“Radhe Shyam is a true cinematic experience. Mystery, romance, action and thrills. What a powerful movie. Prabhas is back in full force. It’s a one man show,” he wrote, giving the film four stars in his quick review of Radha Krishna Kumar’s direction.
Prabhas plays a renowned palmist in Radhe Shyam. In an interview with indianexpress.com, director Radha Krishna Kumar opened on Prabhas’ character, Vikramaditya. He said, “The character of Vikramaditya in Radhe Shyam was inspired by European palmist Cheiro. We also expanded the story by incorporating a couple of real-life incidents.
Speaking about the reaction he expects from the audience, the director said, “I’m pretty confident about the story of the film. I don’t know if the success and the answer are in our hands. Our belief in this story shows in the end result. I believe the public will also like our efforts.
The film, which is set against the backdrop of 1970s Europe, also stars Sachin Khedekar, Sathyaraj, Priyadarshi Pulikonda, Bhagyashree, Murli Sharma, Kunaal Roy Kapoor, Riddhi Kumar, Sasha Chettri and Sathyan.
