Tips for Easing Travel Anxiety on Long Flights

Hi! I am Michelle and me to like traveling…but I’m also an anxious person, which means that every long flight turns into a long exercise in controlling my sanity.

But luckily, I taught myself some easy (and mostly free!) tricks to relax and unwind in my seat in the sky. Here are some of my favorite ways to stay calm, even when travel anxiety kicks in.

1.

Take off your shoes and put on soft, comfortable slippers.

Queue an in-flight movie that will fully hold your attention, especially the one you’ve already watched.

Wear a silky, non-slip eye mask.

5.

Wear the stretchiest, softest leggings or pants you can find.

The day before your flight, try to sleep an hour or two less than normal.

Imagine that everyone on your flight is a loving and compassionate person.

After takeoff, hold your hand luggage on your lap.

Bring your own water bottle and fill it up before you fly.
